I love America

                                              An American eagle

                               An American eagle passed away,

                               and made our enemies understand,
                               that liberty would never die.

                               He led us through the stormy years,
                               and broke the tyrant's wall.
                               So I'll ring my bell and shed my tears,
                               "American eagle, I hear your call."

All my life it was my dream to go to America because I knew it would be something very special. In 1997 I went to America for the first time on vacation, well, on vacation ? I knew even then that I was going home. It was a very strange feeling.When the plane landed at Los Angeles International Airport the first thing I said was…“I am home” Once out of the airport I took a taxi and when we were driving to the hotel I had a feeling that I knew my way around like I had been living there all my life.Even my association with the everyday American was self-evident. From that moment on I knew that I had to be an American in heart and soul. I believe that I had to be born in that year, in that month, on that date and hour but they put me on earth at the wrong place. I didn’t belong in Belgium.The only connection I have with Belgium is my I.D. card, but there it stops. I have no bond with Belgium on what level also, not social, not political, non at all. Instead I have the American way of life inside of me, I know the American politics, the National Hymne, the American law, to be short everything you need to know to be a real and good American citizen. It has always been in me and that has given me always that feeling that, the day I was born, they made a mistake in Heaven. Maybe I am a Belgian on my I.D. card but I know for myself that I am a proud American who loves his country with all his heart.That is why I am trying for many years to find a job in America. Unfortunately I don’t have any special high school diplomas or University degree so without a sponsor it will be very difficult to find a job. I have always worked as a truck driver in Belgium but for many years I am working in tourism now, not officially but independent. I organize vacations for friends and family all over the world except in Europe. So a job in this branch would be great but I would accept any offer, not to earn the big money but just to have a normal life in America.This is my big dream where I live for. In the mean time I have to stay and live in Belgium, being homesick every day and counting the days until I can go back home for a few weeks.I love America because it is so beautiful by nature and the Americans are fantastic people.They are friendly, polite, hospitable and straight on. They will say what they think, you like it or not but at least you will know where you stand. No gossip, no underhand behavior.   I know there is resistance against America for their politics in Washington D.C. but that has noting to do with the everyday American citizen. So to all my fellow citizens I just want to say…

The Golden Nugget Hotel is not a mega hotel, from the first moment you enter this magnificent hotel you feel that you are welcome. It is a very cosy and beautiful hotel were you will not be treated as a number, at the Golden Nugget hotel you are always a special guest.
They have a great Buffet and you must try their fabulous Breadpudding,
or you can eat at the very cosy Carson Street café. The Golden Nugget has different restaurants and cosy bars, great entertainment and a fantastic Casino.
The Golden Nugget is a place where you feel like home !
